Gardening

Do you have a small yard or garden? Here are some ways that I have found to expand my limited garden space.

1.  Use big pots to plant things like tomatoes, lettuce, and many other veggies.  Click HERE for a helpful site about container planting your garden.

2.  Give anything that will climb a trellis to climb on.  I made this simple trellis out of pvc pipe and string.

3.  Stake it.  If it will grow upward, help it out!  This will keep your veggies from hogging precious ground, and make it easier to weed.
4.  Place pumpkins and other sprawling vines in a separate area of the yard.  They take up so much space and don't need much special treatment.

5.  Garden in hanging baskets!  These are my cucumbers.
Be sure to water the hanging baskets and containers regularly.
Enjoy the fruits (and veggies) of your labor!
